TOWN OF MEXICO
The Town Board for the Town of Mexico will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 5:30pm, or as soon thereafter as possible, at the Mexico Town Hall located at 64 S Jefferson Street in the village of Mexico for the purpose of hearing public comments on the Town of Mexico community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2025 program year.
The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR) and will make available to eligible local governments up to $24.2 million through the 2025 CDBG Program, with up to $20 million specifically available for public infrastructure projects; for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefiting low/moderate income persons.
The Town of Mexico is applying for up to $2,000,000 in CDBG funds for Water District #6. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program, including progress towards beneficiary goals and program objectives, and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals. Comments on the CDBG program or proposed project will be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
The Town Hall meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities.
