Joint Town & Village Ag & Mkt Steering Committee
Purpose: The Steering Committee was established to develop sustainable strategies for appropriate farmland preservation, growth and development, and protection of water resources with the town of Mexico. One of the first acts of the committee was to assist the Town and Village of Mexico in applying for a joint grant in the amount for $50,000. We are pleased to say that this grant has been awarded. Future development is expected in our area which could stress our agricultural uses. The Steering Committee is an advisory committee, meaning they have no independent powers; they bring recommendations to the respective Town and Village Boards.
Regularly scheduled meetings will be held at McAuslan Hall, the Court area, the last Tuesday of every month at 1:30pm and the public is highly encouraged to attend. Any change to this schedule will be posted on the Town and Village Clerk bulletin boards and on the events calendar on the municipal website.
